Well worth the money
Emotion Spitfire Tandem Sit-On-Top Kayak, Yellow, 12'We ordered the Spitfire Emotion two seat, along with two Spitfire Emotion single seat sit-on-top kayaks. Shipping was done on a flat bed truck (like others have mentioned) and the kayaks came heavily damaged. I do not necessarily think this was the fault of Emotion, though they came in thick clear plastic bags that did not protect them as much as other packaging alternatives. Amazon (per usual) was pretty great on the phone, and we received a good amount of money back on them, and with a part of that we were able to buy a kayak specific melting tool and plastic strips to repair the deep scratches etc. My four star review has nothing to do with the shipping issues. The kayak itself is great. It is heavy and one person cannot really carry this, but it does come with the rear skeg wheel that works well. It is at times difficult to balance on the skeg wheel and sometimes the kayak wants to lean to one side, which I try to avoid as it would scrape the side of the kayak. I think the kayaks track pretty well because of the skeg wheel which acts somewhat as a rear fin. The double tracks better than the single which is easier to maneuver certainly, but does drift more easily. So far we've taken them out to several lakes and rivers in Oregon where we live, and have paddled as much as 6-8 miles in a day with my 8 year old in front. That includes some pretty windy days across open reservoirs. My 10 year old is able to paddle that distance in the single seat Spitfire as well. The boats (especially the tandem) are VERY stable, and have not even come close to tipping at all.The rear seat did come loose as well. I was able to fix very easily with the same melting tool and extra plastic (I highly recommend getting one of these for the long term of your kayaking experience!)I would absolutely buy this boat again, the storage, netting, etc. are great. I believe the skeg wheel will hold up, though I wish it was a bit more durable. It is all plastic, and so I worry about its longevity a bit... Otherwise, for the price, I don't think they can be beat.PROS:You get a lot for the moneySolid trackingSkeg wheel makes it easier to maneuver on land - would be difficult otherwiseAccessories are great, as is the dry storage areaEasy to load (into a trailer) and cleanCONS:Heavy, could be difficult for a single person to load and unloadSkeg wheel could be a bit more solidSnaps for elastic rope could be more solidly installed

The double tracks better than the single which is easier to maneuver certainly, but does drift more easily.

PROS:

You get a lot for the money
Solid tracking
Skeg wheel makes it easier to maneuver on land - would be difficult otherwise
Accessories are great, as is the dry storage area
Easy to load (into a trailer) and clean

CONS:

Heavy, could be difficult for a single person to load and unload
Skeg wheel could be a bit more solid
Snaps for elastic rope could be more solidly installed

1.0 out of 5 stars EXTREMLY DISAPPONTED
Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2016
Just got a replacement today after waiting for two weeks hoping to get a brand new AND FREE FROM IMPERFECTIONS AND MISHANDLINGS Emotion Spitfire Kayak, once I unwrapped out of the heavy double plastic bag I noticed that the screw that holds one of the seat was out and stripped, as I continued inspecting it for any other flow's, beside several marks of dirty hand prints and a few scratches, I noticed on the front bottom a huge crease that made the pointy part on the front bottom warped.
I have chose this product that said Made in USA on purpose to have a superb craftsmanship but I got a defected unit 3 weeks ago and a worst one today, I AM EXTREMLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY THIS PRODUT IS
P.S the original information on this Kayak stated that the weight was 65lbs.
look at the label attached on the unit sates 90lbs. quite a difference!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice tandem kayak
Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2016
We bought two of these kayaks for our family. They incredibly stable in the water and glide through the water with ease. The seats are very comfortable and I think we will have a lot of fun with them as family. The downside: There are 2 drain holes right behind your butt, so when you are sitting in the water, water tends to splash up in them and getting your seat and rear wet, if you are wanting to stay dry, you are going to need to plug those holes. The quality of the workmanship on the sides are nothing to brag about. The plastic can be kind of rough and not real smooth. Also during shipping the back and front of one of the kayaks become dinged up a bit, nothing big, but still there. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and would do so again. They have so much better stability and ease of moving through the water than the lifetime 10' tandem kayaks, which moves like an anchor is attached to them. The skeg wheel in the back is a lifesaver and allows one person to move them around without help, although you would not want to move them very far as they are very cumbersome and heavy at 12' long and 90 lbs. The one thing that I am absolutely amazed with was how stable they were in the water, no rocking side to side and with a 3 year old in the front seat leaning from one side to the other it is pretty impressive. it is a nice family kayak.
